Boatman’s Trophy

This honor board event is a Mixed Foursome event held annually. The Boatman Trophy is named after ex-Captain Bruce Auld. Bruce worked in the maritime marine hence the name of the trophy.

Bruce was a very strong person with firm ideas and loved Northbridge. After he passed away his widow Sarah would represent the family at the qualifying round, to award prizes. She would then return on the final day and present the Trophy to the winning couple. Sarah passed away in 2014 but left a generous bequest to the Club to allow the trophy to be perpetual.

Sarah and Bruce had their ashes spread on the 12th hole to continue to have a presence at Northbridge. In 2015 Narelle Moulton, Bruce’s second cousin, traveled from Kempsey to represent the family and present the trophy after the final.

Qualifying Round – Sunday 3rd November (8 to qualify)
Quarter Final – Sunday 10th November
Semi Final – Sunday 17th November
Final – Sunday 24th November

Open to Full 6 & 7 Day Financial Members only (No Trial Offer Members).
Junior Members are eligible.
No Handicaps used, event is played off scratch.
Motorised carts and caddies allowed.
Local Rules of the Day apply.
All matches must be played on the scheduled dates and in the allocated times.
If the course is closed on any competition day all rounds will be rescheduled by the Match Committee.
A referee will be appointed for the final.
The Match Committee will allocate and reserve starting times for all matches in all rounds in approximately the middle of the comp. Competition times, dates and conditions may be varied at the Match Committee’s discretion.
